THE PIANOS WORK [ composed and improvised music for various pianos/locations ]

Tracks 1, 3 and 6 were recorded October 2010 in Bedford, UK on the upright piano I grew up with.

Tracks 2,4,5,7,9,10 were recorded at The Limehouse, London on a Yamaha grand piano in October 2010. This is joined by a sampled Fazioli on track 2, a sampled Steinway on track 5, some additional software processing on track 4 and a basic audio loop app for Android phones on track 7.

Track 8 was recorded in Markson Pianos on new years eve 2010 and uses almost every piano in the entire showroom. The great composer and pianist Ruben Maric joined me for that session.

The bonus track 11 was recorded in Manchester in 1999 on a Welmar upright piano that was sampled and then sequenced within Logic.

The Limehouse Studio facilities, including microphones and pre amps for location recordings, were kindly provided by the studio owner Rupert Pfaff.
