a piano is a living room its architecture is soft and loud in spaces how it throws us together remains a standing principle a piano is a house of balance the sounding of relations crashing in the hall a piano is a place of bones for music’s vertebrate assemblies I live there I would wind the wires around us I would be arrhythmic I would decompose it I would let it speak on Sundays how faithful this piano is to my hands to these silences (text by Carol Watts)

about

- polyrhythmic - piano - analog - 60s avantgarde - minimalist - jazz - electronica - acoustic - cinematic - afrobeat - maximalist - synthpop - freeimprov - classical -

Pianos, synths, strings, voices and percussion dominate this, at times, epic, and at other times, quietly personal solo album.

Musica Antiqua Tronica is In part an homage to electronic and electro-acoustic music of wildly different genres from the 1960s to the early 21st century and reflects also upon the first formative musical experiences from my childhood in the late 1970s and early/mid 1980s.

The tracks move from live improvisations to discrete compositions, including a few arranged excerpts from existing large works such as "We Made Us" and "Vigil".

Thanks to Carol Watts, Sarah Johns, the Ramsays of Bamff and my mum.
